11 FEARED KILLED AS TERRORISTS ATTACK ADAMAWA COMMUNITY

At least 11 people were feared killed after suspected terrorists invaded Zaranga village in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday, with residents saying the attackers opened fire and set several houses ablaze.

A resident who spoke to journalists said 11 bodies had been recovered, while several other residents remained missing. Search teams and security personnel were reportedly searching nearby areas for those unaccounted for.

Another resident said his wife and two other members of his family were among those killed during the attack.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over the security situation in parts of Adamawa, particularly communities located in areas affected by terrorist activities.

Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Adamawa State Police Command were unsuccessful as the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, did not respond to repeated calls.

However, the Chairman of Gombi Local Government Area, Markus Ishaya, later confirmed that 12 people were killed in a related attack in Nzangula village, while two others were injured and one woman was abducted.
